Time . . .

I love the idea of time travel, and have often pondered which era of history I'd most like to visit. It's a hard choice. I love American Victoria, the 50's, the 70's, I love the Wild West and all the pioneers who trekked across the prairie. I also love when my children were born; I could live those moments over and over. How about you? If a time machine were to fall into your hands today, and you had the ability to go anywhere, anytime, what would you do? Where would you go?

    1. That was the year the wheels fell off the whole thing. It would be nice to go back and have a "do over".

  3. In my mind I went everywhere. I was a pioneer walking across the country; I was in Ann Frank's attic; I was in Ireland with Brian Boru...I really couldn't pick one, or be more thankful for the world I really live in.

    1. Those are all interesting choices. Wouldn't it be strange and sad to witness t certain world events as they unfolded, such as Anne Frank's short life?

  4. The 1960's were fun. I enjoyed the 1970's too - all those crazy fashions, winkle picker shoes and transistor radios. Top of the Pops and Radio Caroline. The Twist. Life is good like it is, but they were great times to look back on :0)

  6. I'd like to go back and observe (as an unseen observer) my parents when I was young, about 1980 would be good, and see their lives, interactions, and personalities from when they were my age.

  7. I like the idea of time as in how people use time, how time uses us, the meaning of time vs. eternity, but I've never thought much about time travel. Oh wait, I take that back, I'm currently reading Stephen King's novel about the man who travels back in time to stop the JFK assassination. I love how King treats the subject, not at all sci fi.

  8. I may have used up my adventuresome spirit, because the first period that came to mind was the 1950s in Sweden (not the US because of race issues and McCarthy, things I was of course completely ignorant of then). Anyway, 1950s in Sweden seems like such a calm, safe, and sane time in my life. My age went from 10 to 19 during the 1950s and maybe that has something to do with it also. Great question!
